Harald Gilbers, born in 1969 in Moers in the Lower Rhine region, studied English and history in Augsburg and Munich. He subsequently worked as a cultural editor for television and as a freelance theatre director. His debut novel, “Germania,” the first case featuring former police commissioner Oppenheimer, received the Friedrich Glauser Prize in 2014. Its sequel, “Odin’s Sons,” was awarded the Prix Historia for best historical crime novel in France in 2016.
