Hans-Ulrich Thamer

Hans-Ulrich Thamer, born in 1943, is a German historian. He taught modern and contemporary history at the University of Münster (formerly the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster), where he is professor emeritus. His research has focused on National Socialism and European fascism, the intellectual and social history of France in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and the cultural history of collections, exhibitions, and museums. His publications include a biography of Adolf Hitler, a history of the Nazi Party, and the book “Verführung und Gewalt” (“Seduction and Violence”).
