Hans Peter Schwarz

Hans Peter Schwarz (1934–2017) was a German political scientist and contemporary historian. He taught at the universities of Hamburg, Cologne and Bonn and was a professor of political science and contemporary history in Bonn. His notable works include a two-volume study of Konrad Adenauer (1986/1991) and biographies of Axel Springer (2008) and Helmut Kohl (2012). His work received several awards, including the Historian’s Prize of the City of Münster and the Ernst Robert Curtius Prize for Essay Writing.
