Hans Michael Bock

Hans-Michael Bock, born in 1947 in Wilhelmshaven, is a German film historian, filmmaker, translator, and publicist. He wrote and edited numerous publications on German and international film history. Among his major works is the loose-leaf reference work CineGraph – Lexikon zum deutschsprachigen Film, begun in 1984. The CineGraph Institute – Hamburg Centre for Film Research was established out of the work on this encyclopedia; Bock was involved in its development and served on its board.
