Hajime Isayama

Hajime Isayama (born August 29, 1986, in Ōyama, Hita, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. In 2008, he received the Special Encouragement Award in the 80th Newcomer Competition of Weekly Shōnen Magazine for HEART BREAK ONE. In the same year, his work ORZ was shortlisted in the 81st competition, and he made his debut in Magazine Special with a completed story. His best-known work is ATTACK ON TITAN, which began serialization in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2010. In 2011, the series received the 35th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shōnen category.
