Ha-Joon Chang, born in 1963, studied economics in Seoul and later in Cambridge, where he received his PhD in 1992. He subsequently taught and conducted research at Cambridge’s Faculty of Economics, specializing in development policy. He also worked as an adviser to international organizations, including the United Nations, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. His work has received several awards.
