Guy Delisle

Guy Delisle was born in 1966 in Quebec, Canada. He studied visual arts in Toronto from 1984 and worked for the animation studio CinéGroupe in Montreal from 1986 to 1988. He subsequently worked for various animation studios in Munich, Berlin and Valencia. His experiences as an animator in Shenzhen and Pyongyang became the basis for comics of the same names. His time in Burma and Jerusalem with his wife, who worked for Médecins Sans Frontières, also informed his work. In 2012, his book “Aufzeichnungen aus Jerusalem” received the prize for Best Album at the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
