Gustav Dobos

Gustav Dobos is a German physician and professor of naturopathy and integrative medicine. A specialist in internal medicine, nephrology and intensive care medicine, he focused particularly on the treatment of chronic diseases. For more than 20 years, he headed the Department of Naturopathy and Integrative Medicine at the Evangelische Kliniken Essen-Mitte. In 2004, he was appointed to the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach endowed professorship for naturopathy at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Dobos is regarded as one of the pioneers of scientifically evaluated naturopathy and integrative medicine in Germany. His research has addressed traditional naturopathic treatments, traditional Chinese medicine and mind-body medicine, especially approaches to lifestyle change and stress reduction.
