Gladys McGarey (1920–2024) was an American physician and a pioneer of holistic medicine. She was among the first Western women physicians in the United States to use acupuncture and trained numerous doctors in the method. McGarey helped establish the American Board of Holistic Medicine and the Holistic Medical Association. She also advocated natural childbirth and the presence of fathers in hospital delivery rooms. McGarey founded the Foundation for Living Medicine and ran a counseling practice in Arizona.
