Giuliano da Empoli

Giuliano da Empoli is an Italian-Swiss writer and scholar. He founded Volta, a pro-European think tank based in Milan, and taught comparative politics at Sciences Po in Paris. His professional career also included serving as deputy mayor for culture in Florence and as an adviser to Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. Da Empoli has published numerous internationally released essays, including The Engineers of Chaos (2020), about new propaganda techniques. His first novel, The Wizard of the Kremlin, received the Grand Prix du Roman de l’Académie française and was a finalist for the Prix Goncourt.
