Gill Lewis

Gill Lewis studied veterinary medicine and worked as a veterinarian, including in Africa and the Arctic, before becoming a freelance author. As a child, she ran a small animal hospital in her parents’ garden shed, treating mice, birds and other small animals. Her debut novel, *Der Ruf des Kulanjango*, was published in 20 languages. Her children’s books have received several awards, including the Little Rebels Award, the US Green Earth Book Award and the German Environmental Award for Children’s Literature.
