Gilbert Adair

Gilbert Adair was born in Edinburgh in 1944 and died in 2011. He worked as a novelist, screenwriter, translator and columnist. His novels include Blindband, Der Tod des Autors, Liebestod auf Long Island, Der Schlüssel zum Turm and Träumer. He also attracted attention for his translation of Georges Perec’s La Disparition, which, like the French original, omits the letter e.
