Gerhard Fink (1934–2013), born in Fürth, was a classical philologist, translator, and editor. He studied ancient languages, German studies, philosophy, and history, and taught at a secondary school in Nuremberg. His scholarly and popular publications included translations and adaptations of works by Horace, Ovid, Seneca, and Virgil, as well as books such as *Die griechische Sprache* and *Seneca für Gestresste*. He also became known to a wider readership for his adaptation of Ovid’s *Metamorphoses*.
