Gerd Holzheimer (born 1950) is a German author. He holds a doctorate in Bavarian literary history and subsequently worked for many years as a lecturer at an institute in the field. His publications include »Trüffeljagd im Fünfseenland«, »Zum Ammersee!«, »Da kloa Prinz«, a Bavarian adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s »The Little Prince«, and »Kulinarisches Bayern«. Holzheimer has also worked as an editor of the journal »Literatur in Bayern« and as artistic director of the »Literarischer Herbst« literary event in the district of Starnberg. The son of a land surveyor, he grew up in various parts of Bavaria, acquiring familiarity with several Bavarian and Swabian dialects.
