Georgi Demidow

Georgi Demidov (1908–1987) was a Soviet physicist and writer. He grew up in what is now Ukraine and worked as a physicist in Kharkov. Arrested in 1938, he spent fourteen years in the Kolyma Gulag. He began writing about these experiences. In 1980, the KGB confiscated his manuscripts; his writings were rediscovered only after perestroika.
