George Packer

George Packer, born in 1960 in Santa Clara, California, is an American writer and journalist. His notable books include The Unwinding, published in German as Die Abwicklung, and Letzte beste Hoffnung. The Unwinding received the 2013 National Book Award. In 2009, Packer was a Holtzbrinck Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin.
