Georg Seeßlen (born 1948) is a German writer, film critic and cultural critic. He studied painting, art history and semiotics in Munich and taught at various universities in Germany and abroad. Seeßlen has published numerous books and articles on film, popular culture and politics, including “Martin Scorsese,” “Quentin Tarantino gegen die Nazis,” “Tintin, und wie er die Welt sah” and “Das zweite Leben des ‘Dritten Reichs’.” Several of his books were written jointly with Markus Metz, including “Blödmaschinen” and “Der Rechtsruck.” In 2024, Seeßlen received the Lessing Prize for Criticism.
