Geoffrey Parker

Geoffrey Parker (born 1943) is a historian of the early modern period. He taught first in Cambridge and later at Yale University and Ohio State University in the United States. Parker is a Fellow of the British Academy and a member of several foreign academies, including the Real Academia de la Historia and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. His distinctions include the Grand Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic, the A. H. Heineken Prize for History (2012), and honorary doctorates from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Catholic University of Brussels, and the University of Burgos.
