Gayl Jones

Gayl Jones was born in Kentucky in 1949. She taught at Wellesley College and the University of Michigan. Her first novel, “Corregidora,” was published in the United States in 1975, followed by “Eva’s Man” in 1976. Her later works include “Palmares” (2021), which was shortlisted for the Pulitzer Prize, and “The Birdcatcher” (2022), which was nominated for the National Book Award.
