Gayge Operaista

Gayge Operaista is the name used by an autonomist Marxist, Italian, lesbian butch, or by a group using that identity. Operaista has worked as a street medic, herbalist, wilderness emergency medicine specialist, spoken-word artist, writer, and activist, with a focus on healthcare and nursing. Operaista was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World, previously participated in TransFix activism in Northern California, and helped organize Camp Trans. Their work connected community-based care and mutual aid with efforts to link the struggles of trans communities to those of workers.
