Gary Smith

Gary Smith is an internationally active dance and theatre critic. For several decades, he wrote for the magazines Ballet Review, Dance International and Dance Europe, as well as for the Canadian daily newspaper Hamilton Spectator. The companies he covered included the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Ballet Nacional de Cuba and the Stuttgart Ballet. His reviews were translated into several languages, including Korean, Norwegian and German. Smith also choreographed for musical theatre and appeared on the Canadian television network CBC.
