Gary Chapman studied anthropology and worked for many years in couples counseling. He published numerous books on relationships and communication. He became best known for his bestseller *The 5 Love Languages*, which was translated into numerous languages and reached a broad readership. Chapman was internationally known as an expert on relationship issues.
