Gabriele Schrey-Vasara

Gabriele Schrey-Vasara (born in 1953) is a translator from Finnish. She studied history, Romance languages and literature, and Finno-Ugric studies in Göttingen and Helsinki. Her translations include novels by Kati Hiekkapelto, Emmi Itäranta, Leena Lehtolainen, and Matti Rönkä, as well as nonfiction from Finnish. In 2008, she received Finland’s State Translator’s Prize.
