Gabriele Diewald

Gabriele Diewald is a German linguist. She studied German and English at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg and the University of Canterbury, Kent (1988). She earned a doctorate in German linguistics from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg in 1990 and completed her habilitation there in 1998. Diewald taught as a professor of German linguistics at Leibniz Universität Hannover. Her scholarly work addressed grammatical categories, verbal constructions, modal particles, gender-neutral language, and grammaticalization.
