Gabi Kreslehner, born in Linz in 1965, worked as a teacher, author, and theater educator. She wrote for children, young adults, and adults. Her first novel for young readers, “Charlottes Traum,” was published in 2009 and adapted into the 2015 film “Beautiful Girl.” The book received, among other honors, the 2009 Peter Härtling Prize and the 2010 Austrian Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize. Her other works include the adult novel “In meinem Spanienland” (2010) and the young adult novel “PaulaPaulTom ans Meer” (2016). She received several awards and grants for her work.
