Fyodor Dostoevsky

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky (1821–1881) was a writer. He was the second of eight children in an impoverished aristocratic family from Moscow. Due to revolutionary activities, he spent four years in forced labour. His life was also shaped by a passion for gambling and the resulting financial worries. In addition to nine novels, he wrote numerous short stories, novellas and essays.
