Fritz Schindlecker, born in 1953 in Tulln, Lower Austria, began working as a cabaret writer, dramatist and screenwriter in 1983. He wrote sketches, songs and micro-dramas for performers including Lukas Resetarits and Erwin Steinhauer, as well as for the Simpl cabaret, and authored boulevard comedies, television series such as “Novotny & Maroudi” and “Die Lottosieger”, and the television documentary “Morgenland im Abendland”. His historical novel “Jakob Mustafa” was published in 2014. With Erwin Steinhauer, he published, among other works, “Wir sind super!” and “Fröhliche Weihnachterl”. His biography “Erwin Steinhauer – Der Tragikomiker” appeared in 2021. Schindlecker was also a co-founder of Verlag für Gesellschaftskritik and the label Extraplatte.
