Fritz Koch-Gotha

Fritz Koch-Gotha (1877–1956) was a German illustrator. He first studied at the art academy in Leipzig and then at the academy in Karlsruhe under Hans Thoma. From 1902, he worked as a freelance illustrator in Berlin, became a regular contributor to the “Illustrirte Zeitung,” and was one of the most frequently commissioned artists of the Ullstein publishing house. His best-known work includes the illustrations for “Die Häschenschule” (1924), written by Albert Sixtus, which became one of Germany’s best-known picture books.
