Friedrich August Hayek

Friedrich August Hayek was born in Vienna and earned doctorates in law and political economy. Together with Ludwig von Mises, he helped establish the Institute for Business Cycle Research. He later emigrated to England and then to the United States. He taught at institutions including the London School of Economics and the University of Chicago. In 1974, he received the Nobel Prize. Hayek died in Freiburg in 1992.
