Fred von Hoerschelmann

Fred von Hoerschelmann (1901–1976) was a German writer and radio playwright. He studied philosophy, art history and literary studies in Munich. He first became known for short stories published, among other places, in the Berliner Tageblatt and the Frankfurter Zeitung. The author of more than twenty radio plays and numerous radio adaptations of literary works, he made a significant contribution to the development of the genre. His best-known works include Die verschlossene Tür (1952), Das Schiff Esperanza (1953) and the short-story collection Die Stadt Tondi (1950).
