Frauke Angel

Frauke Angel was born in 1974 in Germany’s Ruhr region. She worked as an actress on German stages for 20 years and also held various jobs, including cleaner, sales assistant, gravedigger, welder, barmaid, air guitarist and ghostwriter. Her first children’s book was published in 2017. She subsequently wrote books, stories and radio plays for children and young people. Her work received several awards, including the 2021 Lesekünstlerin des Jahres award, the MDR Children’s Radio Play Award and the Austrian Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize. Her works include the picture book Ein eiskalter Fisch, which received the HUCKEPACK Picture Book Award.
