Franz Kainer

Franz Kainer was born in Lind, Austria. He studied human medicine at the Karl Franzens University of Graz, where he received his doctorate in 1980. After working in surgery and internal medicine, he specialized in gynecology and obstetrics. In 2004, he took over the management of a perinatal center in Munich; in December 2012, he became chief physician of the Department of Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine at Klinikum Hallerwiese in Nuremberg. Kainer is married and has three children.
