Franz Alt

Franz Alt (born 1938) is a German journalist and author. From 1968 to 2003, he worked for Südwestfunk and Südwestrundfunk, becoming best known as the presenter and longtime head of the political magazine »Report«. He also presented or headed the programmes »Zeitsprung«, »Querdenker« and »Grenzenlos«. His books focus particularly on ecology, climate protection and renewable energy. His notable works include »Jesus – der erste neue Mann«, »Die Sonne schickt uns keine Rechnung«, »Der ökologische Jesus« and »Krieg um Öl oder Frieden durch die Sonne«. Alt has received, among other honours, the Goldene Kamera, the Bambi, the Adolf-Grimme-Preis, and the German and European Solar Prizes.
