Franka Frei

Franka Frei, born in Cologne in 1995 and raised in Salzburg, is an author and journalist whose work focuses on reproductive rights and health. She is particularly known for her popular science nonfiction book »Periode ist politisch. Ein Manifest gegen das Menstruationstabu« (2020). Her debut novel, »Krötensex«, followed in 2021, and her nonfiction book »Überfällig. Warum Verhütung auch Männersache ist« was published in 2023. Her journalism has appeared, among other outlets, in Deutschlandfunk Kultur, Der Spiegel, WDR and Deutsche Welle.
