Francois Garde

François Garde was born in 1959 in Le Cannet on the French Mediterranean coast. He worked as a senior French government official, including in New Caledonia. His debut novel, *Ce qu’il advint du sauvage blanc* (*What Happened to the White Savage*), received eight literary awards in France, including the Prix Goncourt for Best First Novel. His novel *Pour Trois Couronnes* was published by Gallimard in 2013.
