Francois Cheng

François Cheng was born in China in 1929 and moved to France at the age of 19. He wrote novels, poetry and philosophical nonfiction, and was also known as a calligrapher. In 1998, he received the Prix Femina. In 2002, he was elected to the Académie française. His works published in German include Five Meditations on Beauty and On the Beauty of the Soul.
