Francesca Ekwuyasi

Francesca Ekwuyasi was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and works as a multidisciplinary artist. Her debut novel, *Butter Honey Pig Bread*, received the 2022 Dayne Ogilvie Prize for queer emerging writers. In 2021, the novel was a finalist for the Canadian competition *Canada Reads* and was also nominated for the Governor General’s Award, the Amazon First Novel Award, the Lambda Literary Award, the ReLit Award, the Giller Prize and the Dublin Literary Award. Ekwuyasi also co-created *Curious Sounds: A Dialogue in Three Movements* with Roger Mooking, an experimental work of nonfiction.
