Florian Waldvogel (born 1969) studied the practice of art mediation at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. From 2001 to 2003, he was artistic director of Kokerei Zollverein | Contemporary Art and Criticism in Essen; from 2006 to 2008, he was a curator at Witte de With in Rotterdam; and from 2009 to 2013, he directed Kunstverein in Hamburg. As a co-curator, he was involved in exhibitions including “Just Do It!” (Linz, 2005), “Manifesta 6” (Nicosia, 2006), and “Das Grosse Rasenstück” (Nuremberg, 2006). He edited, among other works, Olaf Metzel’s “Gegenwartsgesellschaft” (2013) and authored “Who let the dogs out” (2001) and “Libretto für einen möglichen Kunstverein” (2010).
