Fitzgerald Kusz

Fitzgerald Kusz was born in Nuremberg in 1944 and grew up in Forth in Middle Franconia. He studied English and German literature in Erlangen and spent a year working as an assistant teacher in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England. Until 1982, he worked as a teacher in Nuremberg, after which he became a freelance writer. He became widely known for his 1976 play “Schweig, Bub!”, which was performed more than 700 times in Nuremberg over the following 30 years. His honors include the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Pro Meritis Medal, the Friedrich Baur Prize, and the Bavarian Dialect Prize.
