Federica de Cesco (born 1938) is a German-Italian author. She was born in Pordenone to an Italian father and a German mother and grew up in several countries. She studied art history and psychology in Liège. At the age of 15, she wrote her first novel, The Red Silk Scarf, which was followed by more than 50 books for children and young adults. In 1994, she published her first book for adults, Silbermuschel. Her other novels include Die neunte Sonne, Der englische Liebhaber and Die Tibeterin.
