Fatimah Asghar

Fatimah Asghar worked as a screenwriter, filmmaker, poet, and novelist. Asghar co-wrote the Emmy-nominated HBO series »Brown Girls«, which centers on the friendship between Muslim women of color, and co-edited an anthology about Muslim LGBTQI+ people. In 2017, Asghar was included on Forbes’ »30 Under 30« list. Their debut novel, »When We Were Sisters«, was published in 2022, was longlisted for the National Book Award, and received the inaugural Carol Shields Prize for Fiction.
