Evelyne Polt-Heinzl (born 1960 in Braunau am Inn) is a literary scholar, critic and exhibition curator. She studied German, political science and philosophy in Salzburg and Vienna and worked from 1990 at the Documentation Centre for Modern Austrian Literature at Literaturhaus Wien. Her publications focus, among other subjects, on Austrian literature around 1900, the interwar and postwar periods, women’s literature, reading culture and the book market. Her books include “Ringstraßenzeit und Wiener Moderne” (2015) and “Die grauen Jahre” (2018). In 2017, she received the Austrian State Prize for Literary Criticism. She has also edited works by unjustly forgotten authors.
