Eveline Hasler

Eveline Hasler, born in Glarus in 1933, is a Swiss writer. She studied psychology and history in Fribourg and Paris and subsequently worked as a teacher. She published children’s and young adult books, historical novels, poetry, and prose for adults. Her books have been translated into twelve languages and some have been adapted for film. Her honors include the Schubart Literature Prize, the Meersburg Droste Prize for Women Poets, the Justinus Kerner Prize, and the Droste Prize for her complete literary work in 1994. In 1990–91, she was a guest lecturer in the German Department at the City University of New York.
