Born in 1974, Eva-Maria Schnurr is a historian with a doctorate and a journalist. She worked as a freelance journalist for publications including Die Zeit and Stern and served as an editor at Der Spiegel. She has also edited numerous books published by Der Spiegel. Her most recent publications include Deutschland, deine Kolonien and Das Zeitalter der Hexenverfolgung (both 2022), Kriegsgefangene (2023), and Die letzten Tage von Pompeji and Das alte Ägypten (both 2025).
