Eula Biss is a writer and essayist. She has taught nonfiction writing at Northwestern University in Illinois. In 2009, she received the National Book Critics Circle Award for her book »Notes from No Man’s Land«. She has also held fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the Howard Foundation and won the Chicago Public Library Foundation’s 21st Century Award. Her book »On Immunity: An Inoculation« was published in German by Hanser in 2016 as »Immun. Über das Impfen – von Zweifel, Angst und Verantwortung«.
