Eugene T. Gendlin

Eugene T. Gendlin (1926–2017) was born in Vienna and emigrated to the United States in 1938. He taught behavioral sciences and philosophy at the University of Chicago, worked with Carl Rogers, and succeeded him there. Gendlin developed the psychotherapeutic method of Focusing and coined its name. He published more than 200 works on the subject, which were translated into numerous languages.
