Esther Horvath

Esther Horvath is a photographer whose work documented research conducted by the Alfred Wegener Institute. She received the 2020 World Press Photo Award in the Environment category for an image of polar bears at a research camp. Horvath studied at the International Center of Photography in New York and was twice named a “Photo Artist of the International Association of Photographic Arts.” In 2013, she received the George and Joyce Moss Scholarship for documentary photography. Her photographs have appeared in publications including National Geographic, Audubon Magazine, Stern, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and TIME.
