Esther Bejarano

Esther Bejarano (1924–2021) was born in Saarlouis and survived the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. There, she played in the girls’ orchestra, which was forced to perform for the SS. After the Nazi era, she spent decades campaigning against fascism, far-right extremism, and xenophobia. She received numerous awards for her work.
