Ernst Kausen

Ernst Kausen (born 1948) is a mathematician, computer scientist and linguist. He studied mathematics, physics and computer science in Giessen and Hanover, earned a doctorate in mathematics (Dr. rer. nat.), and later studied Egyptology, Ancient Near Eastern studies and comparative linguistics in Göttingen. From 1977 to 1982, he worked as an IT manager for an internationally active US company. He subsequently taught mathematics and theoretical computer science as a professor at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Mittelhessen and became emeritus in 2014. His publications include works on mathematics, Egyptology and linguistics, notably Die indogermanischen Sprachen (2012) and the two-volume Die Sprachfamilien der Welt (2013–2015).
