Erik Schilling

Born in 1984, Erik Schilling studied German, Latin and Italian philology in Munich, Pavia and Salamanca. He completed his doctoral studies at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Stanford University. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Munich and Harvard and conducted research at Jesus College, Oxford. His scholarly interests include the historical novel, poetry, literary theory, contemporary literature and intermediality. In 2020, he received the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize from the German Research Foundation.
